Why this works

Greek yogurt delivers calcium and roughly 20 g of slow protein, while walnuts add omega-3 ALA and the cinnamon nudges post-snack glucose down a little further.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, 2% or 5%
  • 2 tbsp walnut halves, roughly broken
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Method

  1. 1Spoon the yogurt into a small bowl and swirl the top with the back of the spoon.
  2. 2Toast the walnuts in a dry pan for two minutes if you have time, it doubles the flavour.
  3. 3Scatter the walnuts over the yogurt, dust with cinnamon, add the salt.
  4. 4Drizzle with honey only if the yogurt is very tart.

Yvette's tip

Toast a whole bag of walnuts on Sunday and keep them in a jar, snack assembly then takes sixty seconds.
