Why this works
Whole soy is the most reliable food source of isoflavones, the plant compounds most consistently linked with fewer and milder hot flashes, and it arrives with fiber and protein attached.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups frozen edamame in the pod
- 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt
- Pinch of chilli flakes (optional)
- Squeeze of lime (optional)
Method
- 1Bring a small pan of water to the boil and add the frozen pods.
- 2Cook four to five minutes, until the pods are bright green and the beans are tender.
- 3Drain well and shake the pan hard to dry the pods off.
- 4Toss with sea salt, chilli, and lime, and eat warm straight from the bowl.
Yvette's tip
Keep a bag in the freezer at all times. This is the snack that stops the 4pm biscuit habit.
